Equality

HO is she? can you tell if she is white or black? can you tell which nationality she is? can you tell what religion she is? You will not be able to, because she has got a mask on her face. Imagine if we all wear a mask everyday, who would know who the person standing next to him/her is? Could be a frinnd, brother, father, son, husband or could be a sister, daughter, mother or wife. If we had to talk to someone, we would following our manners, we would be nice we wouldn't hate them. Then why do we hate people normally just because they don't belong to the same nationality? Same religion? Same Place? Same race?
Why not put that mask on our faces and love everybody around us?

Spread laughs, smiles and happiness, Love everyone and spread peace.

Pain

So i was free and going through my photo albums, I found this photograph, and my first thought about the final look of the photo was the above. You always have to use your eyes first and your imagination to make a photo. Once you have that photo in your mind you will do anything to achieve that result and at that point it becomes very easy as well because you have everything in your mind you just have to bring it out in the form of your final photo.

I know it sometimes get frustrating not getting the results you want but that is not because you cannot do it, that is because you do not know how to do it, you are not good at photoshopping or let me put it this way, you have not mastered all the photoshop areas. When you know photoshop or any software that you use to edit your photos until and unless you have complete command on that software it will always be difficult for you to get the desired results.
Learn to use the software and that would definitely make your work a lot more easier and better.

I am posting the original image as well take a look and see how i turned it into this final image. If you would like to learn that leave a comment and i will upload a tutorial for it.
About the image now, it was a candid shot i took a few years back in Sarhad university Peshawar. The name i gave to this photo is because of the expression that i have achieved after the processing.

Lighting for Dark Portraits

Perhaps more crucial than which lighting modifier I use is the positioning of my lights. It is the position of lighting that gives objects their shape and help sculpt the face. For this image, I knew I wanted a very defined sculpting of the face. So, I placed my main light — a gridded stripbox — to the right and 90° to the camera. I used the modeling light and tilted it until I got it in the ballpark. I shot a few frames to adjust my power settings and fine tune the stripbox.
This is a very nice image, but he disappears into the blackness. The photo is fine as-is, but I wanted to separate him from the background. So, I took a second gridded stripbox and positioned it to the left and behind the subject, giving him a nice edge and shape to his head. The power levels are about even, but I was able to reduce the intensity and harden the edge by moving the rim light further away and therefore exploiting the Inverse Square Law.
If your background isn't black enough, use Adobe CameraRAW or Lightroom's "Blacks" slider to only affect the darkest tones in your image. Your background should go totally black with just a little nudge.
This is the final image. Both lights working together, giving shape and dimension to the face. (Photo: Daniel Soñé)

Lighting for Fashion

A lot of beginning photographers assume that to get magazine quality images, you have to do a TON of POST PRODUCTION RETOUCHING.  While this may sometimes be the case, it certainly does not always apply if you pay VERY close attention to the LIGHTING and all the little DETAILS on set. The first step always when organizing a fashion shoot is to choose the best model you can get for the job.  For this reason, I like to be involved in the casting process.  It’s important that the model take good care of her skin, hair and nails.

Secondly, choose a very strong supporting team. A good stylist makes sure that the clothing looks as good as possible on set. Being a good fashion stylist is not just about putting an outfit together, it is much more than that. It is important that the stylist understands proper tailoring and can work their magic quickly on set to show off the garments to the best of their ability under a variety of lighting.  I say this because many times, a moody side light can bring out details in a garment (good or bad) that we don’t quite notice with our eyes, but will show up on film.  Also, I always expect the hair/makeup artist to be standing just off to the side of the backdrop “set” with a few essential tools watching the model pose.  It is their job to make sure that when the model moves and the hair gets messed up, that they can step in and fix it quickly.  No shoes on the backdrop though, socks only!

For the lighting, I chose certain tools that I thought would best accomplish the look I was going for.  I used a total of four lights to achieve this look.  Remember, MORE LIGHTS DOESN’T MEAN BETTER LIGHTING!  Many times I light a shoot with just one light.  Every time you add another LIGHT, you also add another SHADOW.
